Grow A Lotus Yoga is a unique and transformational experience that will tap into your own creativity and playful nature to empower the children in your life!  This dynamic and comprehensive teacher training is both experiential and educational for professionals seeking to inspire children through various practices of  personal growth, courageous discoveries, and conscious living through yoga.

You will receive the appropriate tools and confidence to integrate yoga for children with your ongoing work with children to build a career as a children’s yoga teacher.

Modules may be taken alone, however, all modules must be completed for the Children’s Yoga Teacher Certificate through Yoga Alliance.

This is a foundational weekend that covers a foundational overview and dynamic yoga pose.

The weekend covers:
– Foundational yoga poses for children
– Teaching with dynamic poses and programs
– The eight limbs of yoga and how they relate to children
– Yoga philosophy, history and roots
– Using Sanskrit and language to teach
– Child Development and age appropriate asana
– Chakra / Energetic Development

Module FIRE & AIR

This weekend explores teaching with passion and heart, including how to teach with story, themes, metaphors and more!

– Teaching with stories and themes
– Creative sequencing and metaphors for lesson planning
– Partner poses, group poses, pyramids and flying yoga
– Anatomy and teaching with bones, muscles and joints
– Ethics of teaching yoga to children
– Classroom management and behaviour techniques
– Heart connecting methods of teaching

Dates: April 13th – 15th, 2018


– Understanding the Brain
– Affirmations, music and mantras
– Strategies for planning creative lesson plans
– Designing your own yoga program
– Creativity behind the business of yoga
– Imaginative visualizations
– Integrating art, language, literacy and other areas of development
– Heart to heart & empathic communication for children
– The business of yoga, entrepreneurship and marketing

Dates: May 4th – 6th, 2018


– Managing stress, worry and anxiety
– Breathing practices appropriate for children
– Meditation & mindfulness techniques
– Understanding the brain
– Strategies for parenting, teaching, professionals
– Using meditation & yoga for teaching children with special needs

Dates: June 1st – 3rd


This Module is a culmination of each module and is specific for those who want to receive their full certification.  An emphasis is placed on your practical experience designed specifically to meet your needs.

Practical hours outside of the weekends are also required and can be completed in a classroom, a yoga studio, community centre.

If you are already working with children, you may choose to do your hours with the children you work with.  If you are not currently working with children, Grow A Lotus Yoga provides  teaching opportunities for you to complete these hours.  Each individual registered in this program will also receive a private mentoring and coaching session.
