Program Overview

This 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is a unique fusion of technical instruction with a heart-centered philosophy that emphasizes a deep awareness, self-connection and empowerment as the source of awakening and transformation.  

The path of becoming a yoga teacher is that of self-discovery and exploration.  Based on the understanding that all great yoga teachers are fundamentally devoted students who are committed to yoga as a path of inner joy, growth and conscious living, this training will guide you along a path that will inspire you to go deep into your experience of yoga, challenge you toward refined awareness and precision in asana practice, and empower you with the skills to share the gifts of yoga practice others. 

Designed as a truly empowering and transformational process, each student will be guided step by step in all areas of great yoga teaching. Other elements of our training include personalized, one-on-one feedback and mentoring, practice teaching and assignments between sessions.

Upon successful completion of the training, you will be eligible to register with the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level (RYT-200).

200 Hour Teacher Training Program Includes:


  • Taking the seat of the teacher with confidence, authenticity and love
  • Understanding your role as a student in the seat of the teacher
  • Traditional paths of yoga philosophy with an emphasis on the teachings of non-dual Shaivite Tantra
  • Heart-centered philosophy that emphasizes a deepening connection to your own inner awareness as source of awakening and transformation.

February 8th – 11th, 2018                                                                     Fridays: 1-8pm
February 23rd – 25th, 2018                                                                  Saturdays: 12-7pm
March 2018 – Self Study                                                                       Sundays: 9am-3pm
April 5th – 8th, 2018
April 20th – 22nd, 2018
May 10th – 13th, 2018
May 25th – 28th, 2018
June 7th – 10th, 2018


  • 6 months (min.) of yoga practice including regular class attendance
  • Written application

 Program Tuition:

  • $3350 + hst – $500 deposit due upon application. Balance to be paid in payment plan detailed in application.

Teacher Trainers:

Julie Coleman connects to her yoga practice from a place of love, wonder, and pure joy that emanates through her teaching of alignment-based, heart-centered Hatha Yoga. She has been weaving the many practices of natural healing, and wellness for almost 2 decades, and is committed to creating a space for self-discovery, where others feel inspired and empowered. Julie celebrates her passion of teaching yoga to children and families as a means to create greater connection, joy and peace within.

She is known as a dedicated yogi with a gentle, kind and peaceful presence committed to inspiring children through compassionate communication, growth, and self-care.

Julie co-facilitates a 95 hour children’s yoga teacher training with Grow A Lotus Yoga, where she thrives on bringing the spirit of play and living from the heart to life.

Leanne Whiting is a creative and perceptive teacher known for her unwavering dedication to practicing and sharing the life-affirming and transformational practices of yoga.

Acknowledged for her grounded presence and playful nature, Leanne creates an optimal balance intentional and intelligent sequenced classes, combined with her playful nature and honest approach which challenges students physically, mentally, and whole heartedly. She is known for creating a welcoming and supportive environment where students leave feeling a greater connection to themselves and an integral part of their community. Leanne is conscious of individual needs and skillfully guides students safely through sequential poses allowing for physical challenges, personal growth and empowerment. She teaches, coaches and facilitates individuals and groups in her home town, Halifax.
