MISSION

To develop and implement an integrative early childhood and elementary based curriculum that includes practices of yoga, mindfulness, breath awareness, emotional and social development.

 What we Do

 

We teach children in elementary schools skills of body and mind awareness, empathic and 
compassionate communication, through the practices of yoga and meditation as a means to reduce stress, worry and anxiety and increase confidence, self-awareness and personal empowerment.

 

Who we Are

 

We are a non for profit association committed to empowering children with a consistent practice of yoga and meditation as a means to increase their levels of happiness, cultivate calmness and inner peace. Our team consists of educated and professional teachers and yoga instructors and we are certified through the only Yoga Alliance Children’s Yoga School in Atlantic Canada.

 

Programs Offered

 

10 Week Trial Program

  • 10 Yoga Sessions, 1x/week per classroom
Each session will begin and end with group assessments.

Each yoga session will include instructions on mindful meditation, yoga postures, weekly themes and check ins on feels and needs, practices of empathic communication, group discussions, sharing etc.

  • A parent information session
  • A school teacher and staff half – day training

 

30 week School Year Program

  • Weekly Yoga session, 1x/week per classroom, 30 weeks.

Each session will begin and end with group assessments.  Each yoga session will include instructions on mindful meditation, yoga postures, weekly themes and check ins on feels and needs, practices of empathic communication, group discussions, sharing etc.

  • A parent information session (three times throughout the school year)
  • A school teacher and staff full day training

 

Program Objectives:

 

  • To teach yoga and meditation to children in elementary schools as accessible tools and resources as a means to reduce stress and anxiety.
  • To provide daily practices of meditation and yoga to children as a grounding practice to increase self-awareness, empathy and compassion
  • To teach children body awareness and the interconnectedness of their thoughts, emotions and behaviours and the impact of stress within each of these areas
  • To teach children coping skills such as yoga, meditation, relaxation skills and breathing practices
  • To teach breathing techniques and relaxation tools to prevent and reduce stress and anxiety

 

We anticipate an increased skill in connection to their emotions as well as the emotions of others, enhanced body awareness and a significant decrease in stress on a daily basis.
